Human Resources Manager

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will partner with business leaders to embed a high‑performance, values‑driven culture across Discovery Insure’s Personal Lines Operations. This senior HR partner will translate business strategy into actionable people initiatives while ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operations and functional leaders to align people strategy with business objectives.
• Act as trusted advisor on organisational design, workforce planning and people‑related decision‑making.
• Lead talent review processes, succession planning and pipeline development for critical roles.
• Identify high‑potential talent and coordinate targeted development interventions.
• Provide expert guidance on employee‑relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and misconduct cases.
• Ensure consistent application of Discovery policies and adherence to South African labour law.
• Support internal mobility decisions in line with Employment Equity and transformation targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR business partner or manager within a large, fast‑moving organisation.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and Employment Equity requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive cultural change.
• Experience in talent management, succession planning and employee‑relations.
