Human Resources Business Partner – Cape Town

About the role

EXL is looking for a dynamic Human Resources Business Partner to operate at both strategic and operational levels, delivering an exceptional employee and leadership experience across South Africa. The role will drive the people strategy, manage the full employee lifecycle, and partner closely with business leaders to shape culture and talent outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to implement innovative HR initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Drive rollout of employee programs, organizational development, and performance management frameworks.
• Coach managers on talent frameworks, tools, and best practices.
• Foster a high‑performance, diverse, and inclusive culture.
• Provide accurate, timely HR guidance and act as a trusted advisor to leadership.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR Shared Services, Legal, and other internal teams.
• Manage employee relations matters, including disputes, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Facilitate clear communication on all HR‑related topics and represent the company professionally.

Required profile

• Strong business acumen and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build trusted partnerships with stakeholders while aligning with company culture and values.
• Eligibility limited to internal Band B2 and Band C1 employees with at least 12 months in current role, performance rating ≥3.5, and no recent disciplinary actions.
• Demonstrated experience in talent development, performance management, leadership development, employee engagement, and retention.
