Human Resource Manager / Executive

About the role

The Human Resource Manager/Executive will provide strategic and operational HR leadership aligned with divisional and group business objectives. Partnering with executive and operational leaders, the role translates business needs into practical people and workforce strategies across civil projects, operational sites and support functions in Gauteng.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full HR generalist function across multiple sites and projects, ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation and company policies.
• Manage complex employee‑relations matters, including disciplinary processes, grievances, disputes, negotiations and union engagements.
• Drive workforce planning, recruitment, retention and succession initiatives for scarce technical and operational skills.
• Oversee performance management, talent development, leadership capability programmes and remuneration/benefits governance.
• Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, systems, reporting and controls, providing risk and compliance reporting to executive management.

Required profile

• Relevant HR degree (minimum); postgraduate HR or business qualification is advantageous.
• 10–15 years progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior HR management or executive role.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or construction environments, preferably multi‑site or project‑based.
• Proven track record in employee relations, labour legislation, workforce planning and senior stakeholder engagement.
