HTML5 Banner Developer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HTML5 Banner Developer to create pixel‑perfect, high‑performance display ads for a range of platforms. This permanent hybrid position is based in Johannesburg and offers the chance to work on multiple campaigns daily, delivering engaging creative that meets strict technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Build HTML5 banners that follow the latest specs, optimizing for performance and file size.
• Interpret a single design and adapt it across 10+ size variations while preserving layout and composition.
• Implement animations using Lottie, Rive or hand‑coded motion, leveraging libraries such as GSAP.
• Compress and optimise video assets for banner use without compromising visual quality.
• Deliver banner sets compliant with Google Ads, AEM, Adform and major DSP specifications.
• Manage several parallel projects, meeting tight deadlines and switching focus as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of current HTML5 standards, CSS3 and vanilla JavaScript.
• Proven ability to assess and adjust designs for different ad formats independently.
• Hands‑on experience with video compression and optimisation techniques.
• Familiarity with animation libraries such as Lottie or Rive.
• Excellent multitasking skills and proactive communication to flag issues early and propose solutions.
