HR Specialist / Manager (Johannesburg)

About the role

Orizen Group is building a dedicated HR function from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the entire HR lifecycle for a fast‑growing, 100‑employee company in Johannesburg.

Key responsibilities

• Lead recruitment and selection for all departments.
• Manage employee relations, discipline and grievance processes in line with LRA and BCEA.
• Design and roll out a performance‑management framework.
• Develop HR policies and ensure governance compliance.
• Oversee Employment Equity, Skills Development and B‑BBEE reporting.
• Drive onboarding, induction and employee engagement initiatives.
• Advise senior leadership on workforce planning as the business scales.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of HR generalist or management experience, preferably having built or run a standalone HR function.
• Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA).
• Ability to operate independently, resourceful and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Experience with Employment Equity, Skills Development and B‑BBEE reporting.
• Excellent judgement, discretion and stakeholder‑management skills.
