HR Practitioner – Agricultural Farm

About the role

The HR Practitioner will act as a professional business partner for Fruitways’ Graymead farm in Villiersdorp, supporting all human‑resource functions in a unionised agricultural environment. The role focuses on delivering efficient HR services, ensuring compliance with legislation and aligning with the Fruitways Group HR strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with managers and employees to influence people‑management strategies.
• Manage industrial relations, disciplinary, incapacity and grievance processes within a unionised setting, including representation at the CCMA.
• Lead recruitment, selection and onboarding for all farm staff.
• Partner with Learning & Development to facilitate training initiatives.
• Drive HR projects and ensure effective implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Maintain HR systems, ensure legislative compliance and support audit processes.
• Analyse HR data and produce regular reports.

Required profile

• Human Resources degree or related qualification.
• 3‑5 years of HR experience in a unionised operational environment; agricultural experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of BCEA, LRA, EEA, OHSA, WSP, ATR reporting and BBBEE.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
• Analytical problem‑solving approach with high attention to detail.
• Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence for travel between operational units.
