HR People Strategy Specialist

About the role

The HR People Strategy Specialist will manage end‑to‑end HR administration and employee support in a fast‑paced contact‑center environment. Reporting to the HR Manager or HR Director, the role partners with Talent Acquisition, Operations, Payroll and Line Managers to ensure compliant, efficient HR processes across the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full employee lifecycle – onboarding, inductions, probation reviews, employee changes and off‑boarding – while maintaining accurate HRIS data and documentation.
• Prepare payroll inputs, manage leave, overtime, allowances and terminations, and ensure compliance with South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, POPIA, COIDA, SDL, UIF, PAYE, National Minimum Wage).
• Provide HR guidance on employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievances, probation management and performance issues; coordinate disciplinary hearings and CCMA preparations.
• Administer training, skills‑development initiatives, SETA reporting and employment‑equity programmes; maintain training records and support learnerships and internships.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology or a related field.
• 3–5 years of HR Generalist or HR Administration experience, preferably in a BPO or high‑volume contact‑center.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation.
• Experience with HRIS platforms such as Paycor, PeopleHum or similar.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and HR reporting capabilities.
