HR Manager – US Operations (Remote)

About the role

The HR Manager – US Operations will serve as Ignition Group’s dedicated HR partner for its US‑based contact centre workforce. Working from South Africa, you will manage the full employee lifecycle for a fully remote US team, ensuring compliance with US employment law and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment for US agents and support roles, including sourcing, screening, offer management and pre‑employment compliance.
• Ensure all job advertising complies with federal and state regulations such as EEO, OFCCP, salary‑transparency, ban‑the‑box, ADEA, veteran and disability outreach requirements.
• Coordinate onboarding readiness, system access, documentation and Day 1 preparation in partnership with Training and Operations.
• Own payroll processing and validation for the US headcount, reconcile discrepancies and liaise with payroll providers.
• Manage corrective‑action processes, employee‑relations matters and investigations in line with US legal requirements.
• Conduct terminations, handle off‑boarding documentation, final pay and system de‑activation.
• Maintain attendance governance, generate reports and enforce standards with operations.
• Track and resolve FMLA, ADA and accommodation cases from intake through closure.
• Maintain accurate employee records and compliance documentation per federal and state law.
• Monitor multi‑state employment law changes and advise operational leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing HR for a US BPO operation, including multi‑state compliance.
• Ability to work across time zones and act as the sole HR authority for the US portfolio.
• Strong knowledge of US employment legislation, recruitment best practices and payroll administration.
• Excellent communication and advisory skills for interaction with US operations and South‑African HR teams.
