HR Manager – Build HR Function in Growing FMCG Business

About the role

This is the first dedicated HR appointment for a fast‑growing FMCG company with over 100 employees, mainly in warehouse settings. You will design and implement the HR function from the ground up, partnering with leadership to shift from reactive to proactive people management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out performance management frameworks, recruitment processes, onboarding programmes and succession planning.
• Lead employee relations, disciplinary procedures and ensure compliance with labour law (BCEA, LRA).
• Create and maintain HR policies, procedures and long‑term workforce planning, including diversity strategies.
• Drive training initiatives, employee engagement activities and support both blue‑collar and office staff.
• Provide HR reporting and act as a trusted business partner as the organisation scales.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience with Matric.
• 5‑7 years of HR generalist experience in manufacturing, FMCG, logistics or similar environments supporting both warehouse and office employees.
• Strong background in industrial relations, performance management, employee relations and labour law compliance.
• Ability to handle EE reporting and be fully versed in BCEA and LRA regulations.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and eager to grow with the business.
