HR Generalist – Sandton, Johannesburg

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services firm in the investments sector, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team in Sandton, Johannesburg. You will play a pivotal role in managing day‑to‑day HR operations and supporting the organisation’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Administer HR processes including employee records, contracts and payroll support.
• Maintain and update HR policies, procedures and employee relations initiatives.
• Oversee recruitment and selection activities, from job posting to onboarding.
• Provide guidance on salary market trends and compensation structures.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, including the BCEA Act and other statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Matric qualification plus a HR certificate, diploma or degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, preferably within financial services.
• Knowledge of investment‑related HR matters is an advantage.
• Proven experience handling payroll, staff contracts and recruitment processes.
• Strong understanding of South African employment law and compliance matters.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAGE Payroll software.
