HR Generalist / HR Business Partner – Durban

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist / HR Business Partner to join the head office of a national FMCG company in Clairwood, Durban. This role will partner with operational managers to deliver HR best practices in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full‑cycle HR support across recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
• Partner with business leaders to develop workforce plans, manage labour broker relationships and ensure compliance with South African labour legislation.
• Lead employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs and training & development activities.
• Handle disciplinary processes, grievance investigations and support labour inspections and audits.
• Maintain HR records, ensure BEE and SMETA audit readiness, and support HR administration and reporting.

Required profile

• Relevant HR qualification (e.g., HRM, BCom HR).
• 3–5 years experience as an HR Generalist and at least 2 years in an HR Business Partner capacity.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or FMCG setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour law, BCEA, LRA and Employment Equity compliance.
• Proven ability to manage large staff complements and outsourced workforce providers.
