About the role
The Human Resources Management team at BMW Group seeks an HR Business Partner Specialist to partner with business leaders, delivering integrated people solutions that drive organisational performance and foster a high‑performance culture.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to provide proactive HR advice and implement people solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Drive HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including performance management, talent management, succession planning, organisational design, workforce planning and change management.
- Coach and advise leaders on employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary processes, conflict resolution and the application of labour legislation and company policies.
- Analyse HR metrics and workforce trends to identify opportunities, mitigate risks and recommend actions that improve organisational performance.
- Support the implementation of Employment Equity, diversity and organisational development initiatives while ensuring compliance with BMW Group policies and South African labour legislation.
- Collaborate with Centres of Excellence and internal stakeholders to deliver integrated HR solutions and continuously improve HR processes and employee experience.
Required profile
- Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist in a manufacturing or labour‑union intensive environment.
- Proven experience partnering with business leaders on strategic and operational HR matters.
- Demonstrated experience in performance management, organisational development, talent management, succession planning and salary & bonus planning.
- Experience facilitating employee‑relations matters and applying labour legislation and company policies.
- Experience leading HR initiatives, organisational change projects and continuous‑improvement activities.
Required skills
- Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
- Advanced understanding of performance management, organisational design, workforce planning and talent management processes.
- Ability to interpret HR metrics and translate insights into practical business solutions.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, governance principles and compliance requirements.
- Ability to compile, analyse and interpret data to influence decisions.
