HR Business Partner (Operations)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner – Operations to support its growing operations in Johannesburg. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the role will partner with operational leaders to align people strategies with business goals and drive organisational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with executives and operational managers to develop and implement workforce planning, talent management and succession initiatives.
• Provide advice and support on employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievances and conflict resolution.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment for multiple business units and design retention and engagement programmes.
• Oversee performance management cycles, set expectations, and coordinate learning and development activities.
• Support change‑management projects, restructuring and cultural transformation efforts.
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation, maintain accurate HR records and contribute to policy development.
• Monitor HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism and engagement, and present data‑driven insights to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role within an operations‑focused environment.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour law and HR best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive organisational change.
