HR Assistant – Remote (South Africa) – US Hours

About the role

We are looking for an organized and proactive HR Assistant to support our growing team remotely from South Africa while working US business hours. The role will help drive recruitment, onboarding, and day‑to‑day HR administration to ensure a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full recruitment cycle: source, screen, schedule interviews and assist with candidate evaluation.
• Coordinate onboarding and off‑boarding activities, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires and departing staff.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Assist with workforce planning, staffing needs and compliance processes such as background checks.
• Respond to employee inquiries and provide general HR administrative support.
• Collaborate with managers on hiring and retention initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in recruiting, staffing, HR or a related role.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and handle confidential information professionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
