Hotel Restaurant Manager – Dinner Service

About the role

The President Hotel is seeking a dynamic Hotel Restaurant Manager to lead our dinner service. You will be responsible for delivering unforgettable evening experiences, overseeing a high‑volume operation, and ensuring every guest leaves with lasting memories.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the complete dinner service from pre‑service briefing to close.
• Manage reservations, table allocations, service flow and guest experiences.
• Welcome guests, host VIPs and handle special occasions and dietary requirements.
• Coach, inspire and develop the front‑of‑house team.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Drive revenue through upselling and personalised interactions.
• Maintain hygiene, food safety and compliance standards.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and provide service recovery.
• Report operational feedback to the Food & Beverage Manager.

Required profile

• Relevant hospitality qualification or hotel school diploma (advantageous).
• 3‑5 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager or Senior Front‑of‑House Supervisor in a 4‑star/5‑star hotel, luxury restaurant or fine‑dining environment.
• Proven ability to manage high‑volume dinner service.
• Strong communication, leadership and guest‑relations skills.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• South African citizenship or valid work permit.
• Professional grooming and presentation.

Required skills

• Experience with restaurant reservation and POS systems.
• Familiarity with Opera PMS.
