Hospital Financial Manager – Durban

About the role

The Hospital Financial Manager will lead the financial and operational support functions for a private hospital in Durban. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will oversee central payment accounts, accounting divisions, and drive the overall financial performance of the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely financial and management analysis and reports.
• Analyze and report on balance‑sheet reconciliations, cost benchmarks and budgeting outcomes.
• Prepare management accounts, budgets and forecasts, and analyse budget variances.
• Evaluate operational and financial reports to improve accuracy and relevance.
• Review general ledgers, ensure VAT compliance and implement corrective actions to standardise financial processes.

Required profile

• Three‑year BCom degree or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification (CA preferred).
• Minimum five years’ experience in financial management, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Proven experience preparing daily financial progress reports, drafting financial statements and handling VAT and income‑tax matters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to plan finances at all organisational levels.
• Experience in HR management within a private hospital is an advantage.
