Holding Station Manager – Deneysville

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Holding Station Manager to oversee our cattle holding station in Deneysville. The role ensures efficient livestock flow while upholding the highest standards of animal welfare, biosecurity and regulatory compliance within a commercial feedlot environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the holding station, including receiving, off‑loading, inspection, sorting, identification and allocation of cattle.
• Supervise humane handling of livestock in line with animal welfare legislation and company standards.
• Monitor cattle health, report injuries or illness, and coordinate with veterinary services for treatments, vaccinations and disease control.
• Coordinate movement of cattle between receiving facilities, holding pens, quarantine areas, feedlot sections and loading points.
• Ensure accurate livestock identification, tagging, weighing and record‑keeping.
• Maintain strict biosecurity protocols and oversee the upkeep of pens, fences, water systems and handling equipment.
• Lead, train and develop station staff, allocate daily duties and monitor performance.
• Produce movement records, operational reports and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation.
• Investigate losses, injuries or incidents and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in livestock management, preferably within a commercial feedlot or holding station.
• Strong leadership and team‑development abilities.
• Commitment to operational excellence, animal welfare and biosecurity standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, safety‑focused decisions.
