Highways Engineer – Road Design & Modelling

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Highways Engineer to join its road design team. You will work on diverse local and international infrastructure projects, delivering high‑quality geometric designs and 3‑D models for roads and related structures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage geometric design models and detailed drawings for roads and associated infrastructure.
• Produce design reports, bills of quantities, and 3‑D visualisations using CAD and modelling tools.
• Apply AECOM’s Quality Management System to all deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adhere to relevant design codes and standards.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of experience in road design and modelling.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with South African design procedures (SANRAL, Western Cape) is advantageous.
• Experience with transport authority clients in the USA, Canada or Australia is a plus.
