Heavy‑Duty Driver – Durban Wheat Mill

About the role

Premier is looking for a dependable Heavy‑Duty Driver to handle the timely and safe delivery of products from the Durban Wheat Mill to various customers. The role requires a focus on vehicle cleanliness, accurate documentation, and adherence to company delivery standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain truck housekeeping by keeping vehicles neat and clean at all times.
• Report all incidents and accidents to management promptly.
• Control proof‑of‑delivery (POD) documents, ensuring they are signed, stamped, and accounted for.
• Monitor fuel consumption and meet company‑set targets.
• Manage stock control, including off‑loading flour at customer sites.
• Complete daily vehicle checklists, report defects, and hand them to the fleet controller or supervisor.
• Handle document control for PODs, fuel slips, toll slips, and trip sheets.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Valid Code 14 driver’s licence.
• Current Professional Driving Permit (PDP) with annual renewal responsibility.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a similar heavy‑vehicle driving role.
