Head of Total Rewards

About the role

Discovery is seeking a senior leader to own and shape its enterprise‑wide Total Rewards strategy. Reporting to the Executive Committee, the Head of Total Rewards will act as the principal advisor on executive remuneration, compensation, benefits, recognition and reward governance, ensuring the organisation attracts and retains top talent while driving performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a comprehensive Total Rewards framework aligned with Discovery’s purpose, business strategy and talent agenda.
• Lead the design, governance and communication of executive remuneration programmes, including fixed pay, short‑term incentives and long‑term equity.
• Oversee compensation, benefits and recognition programmes for the broader workforce, ensuring competitiveness and equity.
• Provide data‑driven insights and analytics to support decision‑making on reward structures and pay equity.
• Monitor market trends, legislative changes and emerging reward practices to keep the organisation at the forefront of innovation.
• Partner with the Remuneration Committee, Board and senior leaders to translate strategy into practical execution.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in total rewards, compensation design and executive remuneration.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to align reward strategies with business objectives.
• Proven governance expertise and experience advising senior leadership and boards.
• Advanced analytical capability with a data‑driven approach to reward decisions.
