Head of Product & Process Design (Automotive Component Manufacturing)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established automotive component manufacturer, is looking for a technically strong Head of Product & Process Design to lead the end‑to‑end development lifecycle. The role bridges R&D and manufacturing, taking components from concept through prototyping to high‑volume production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the complete product development lifecycle, ensuring smooth transition from concept to production.
• Oversee prototyping activities and validate designs against automotive OEM standards.
• Apply Lean principles, FMEA and other quality tools to drive efficient, cost‑effective outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards and cost targets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in R&D, engineering, and manufacturing.

Required profile

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8‑10+ years of product development and process engineering experience in an automotive component supplier environment.
• Proven track record with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and project management abilities.
