Head of People (Remote)

About the role

Tree Traction is seeking a Head of People to build and own the entire people function for a fast‑growing, fully remote marketing agency. This senior role will shape recruitment, onboarding, culture, and employee development as the company scales toward a $50M ARR target.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end recruiting processes, from role scoping to headhunting and offer closure.
• Own onboarding experiences, ensuring new hires integrate smoothly into the remote environment.
• Manage team engagement initiatives and administer the culture budget.
• Act as the primary point of contact for people‑related issues, providing clear and compassionate guidance.
• Partner directly with the COO to define hiring strategies, talent development pathways, and retention programs.

Required profile

• Proven experience building a people function from the ground up in a remote or high‑growth setting.
• Strong track record of full‑cycle recruiting and talent acquisition.
• Excellent judgment and communication skills for handling sensitive employee situations.
• Ability to work autonomously and make strategic decisions that impact company culture.
