Head of Operations – Johannesburg

About the role

Samsara Africa Travel is launching its Johannesburg branch and seeks a dynamic Head of Operations to lead ground logistics and chauffeur services. The role ensures premium standards, seamless service delivery, and real‑time coordination for high‑end clientele.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily ground logistics, including service allocation, vehicle planning, and chauffeur scheduling.
• Adjust schedules in real time to accommodate traffic, delays, or last‑minute requests and ensure on‑time departures.
• Monitor road conditions, traffic hotspots, protests, weather and safety alerts to guide safe and efficient routes.
• Provide on‑call support to chauffeurs, supervise performance, and communicate operational instructions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date staff documentation, driver licences and vehicle service records.
• Manage vehicle service intervals, tyre rotations, detailing and report any damages.
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, company protocols and uphold the brand’s luxury standards.
• Assist the Operations Manager in identifying inefficiencies and implementing improved processes.

Required profile

• Experience in hospitality, tourism operations, logistics or ground handling.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, able to perform under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous) and strong knowledge of Johannesburg, Sandton, Rosebank, Pretoria and airport routes.
