Head of Human Resources – South Africa

About the role

The Head of Human Resources for South Africa will partner with business and functional leaders to deliver the country People Plan, aligning it with global People strategies. This senior position provides strategic HR leadership, drives organisational effectiveness, and ensures people decisions support business performance, culture and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to shape and deliver the South Africa People Plan.
• Provide local market insights to Global HR Business Partners and support implementation of global initiatives.
• Identify, prioritise and build organisational capabilities for a future‑ready workforce.
• Influence and challenge leaders on DEI, employee wellbeing, talent and organisational effectiveness.
• Champion culture transformation and lead local and global change initiatives.
• Lead South Africa People Forums and drive delivery of People Plan priorities.
• Advise on country‑specific organisational design and workforce optimisation.
• Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes and employee experience.
• Develop talent strategies to ensure strong succession pipelines for critical leadership roles.
• Support management of people‑related operational and reputational risks.
• Promote the Group’s Values, Code of Conduct and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic HR leadership within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong ability to influence senior business leaders on people‑related decisions.
• Deep understanding of DEI, employee wellbeing and talent management principles.
• Experience driving culture transformation and organisational change.
• Capability to work across global HR teams and local business units.
