Head of Growth - General Retail

About the role

The Head of Growth – General Retail leads the commercial performance and growth strategy for the General Retail vertical, covering FMCG, supermarkets, liquor, grocery, convenience, wholesale and general trade merchants. Reporting into the Growth Organisation, the role drives merchant acquisition, activation, product adoption and revenue growth across the full suite of Card, Cash, Capital, Software and Value‑Added Services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the vertical growth plan to increase market share and revenue.
• Lead a team of Growth Managers, Executives, Partners and Administrators to meet acquisition and retention targets.
• Manage sales performance, forecasting and KPI reporting for the vertical.
• Collaborate with product, marketing and data teams to ensure product enablement and market fit.
• Own executive relationships with key corporate retail accounts and negotiate multi‑product solutions.
• Provide strategic account management and governance to create long‑term value.
• Drive cross‑functional initiatives and data‑driven decision making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Finance or related field.
• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
• 8–10 years of commercial leadership experience, preferably in fintech, payments or merchant acquisition.
• Proven track record of leading teams and delivering revenue growth.
