Head of Finance

About the role

Hibiscus Retirement Villages (HRV) is seeking a hands‑on senior finance executive to lead the transformation and modernisation of its finance function. Reporting to the CEO and Board, the Head of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership across all villages and service divisions, ensuring sound governance, sustainability and operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for the entire group.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to the Board and committees.
• Manage treasury, cash flow, working capital, banking relationships and investment activities.
• Ensure statutory, VAT and payroll compliance, maintain internal controls and achieve unqualified audit reports.
• Lead the migration from Excel‑based processes to integrated financial systems, dashboards and AI‑enabled tools.
• Support scenario planning, tariff/levies structures and long‑term sustainability models.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior finance leadership, preferably in non‑profit or healthcare environments.
• Proven track record of financial transformation, digitalisation and governance.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work closely with the CEO, Board and senior management.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Implementation and use of integrated financial systems.
• Design and utilisation of management dashboards.
• Experience with AI‑enabled tools for reconciliation, forecasting and document processing.
