Head of Finance / Financial Director

About the role

A leading travel and tourism company in Cape Town is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of Finance / Financial Director. You will lead the finance function, provide strategic financial direction, and support executive decision‑making to drive sustainable growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Act as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team on financial planning, performance and strategic initiatives.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning processes.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS and tax regulations.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital and banking relationships.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls, risk management frameworks and corporate governance.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performance finance team.
• Partner with business leaders to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Required profile

• Extensive senior finance leadership experience, preferably in travel, tourism, hospitality or related service sectors.
• Proven ability to influence C‑level executives and drive strategic financial initiatives.
• Strong understanding of statutory reporting, tax compliance and corporate governance.
• Demonstrated experience in cash flow optimisation and treasury management.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
