Handyman – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Capital Hotels is seeking a proactive Handyman to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues across the property. You will work on a variety of tasks, from guest rooms to pools, delivering high‑quality repairs that uphold our standards of service and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Address maintenance requests logged during shifts and via verbal instructions.
• Perform general DIY tasks including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating.
• Maintain security systems, pool areas, grounds, hotel rooms and other hotel facilities.
• Collaborate with hotel staff and communicate effectively with guests.
• Prioritise multiple tasks while ensuring safety and attention to detail.

Required profile

• Matric (high school) qualification.
• 1‑2 years of handyman or maintenance experience.
• Hands‑on problem‑solving attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
• Honest, trustworthy, presentable and well‑spoken.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and capable of multitasking.
