Half-Day Finance & Inventory Bookkeeper

About the role

A leading production and packaging firm in Brackenfell is looking for a half-day finance and inventory bookkeeper. Working as an independent contractor for about 20 hours per week with on-site presence, the role supports accurate transactional accounting, daily reconciliation and factory payroll support. It suits a detail-oriented person who values process accuracy and a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily accounts payable and accounts receivable so supplier and customer records stay precise and up to date.
• Capture inventory movements in the system from purchase orders through to finished goods, reconciling physical counts from the warehouse team without handling stock.
• Keep accounting and inventory software records aligned and resolve variances before they affect financial reporting.
• Issue customer quotes from job cards and generate final invoices promptly.
• Perform bank reconciliation and monitor balance sheet entries.
• Assist HR by collecting factory timesheets, checking attendance and calculating overtime.

Required profile

• Grade 12 and a relevant qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or finance (degree, diploma or equivalent practical experience).
• Demonstrated experience with transactional accounting, including AP, AR and bank reconciliation.
• Prior work in a manufacturing, production or logistics entity.
• Adaptable, hands-on attitude and good cross-functional communication.

Required skills

• Xero and Excel.
• An inventory platform ERP system.
• Hands-on experience entering purchase orders, stock updates or inventory transactions in software.
