Group Tax Manager

About the role

Nutun is seeking an experienced Group Tax Manager to own the company’s tax positions and deliver strategic, commercially‑focused tax advice. You will work closely with Finance, Legal, Treasury, Payroll, Operations and Procurement to identify tax opportunities, manage risk and support sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and governance of the group tax strategy, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.
• Provide tax advisory support on corporate structures, transactions, and commercial contracts.
• Manage international tax matters, transfer pricing, withholding tax and cross‑border issues.
• Advise on funding structures, cash repatriation and related tax implications.
• Lead tax authority audits, queries, objections and disputes.
• Oversee external tax advisers and deliver independent technical recommendations.
• Drive improvements in tax processes, controls, automation and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance or Law.
• Post‑graduate tax qualification or equivalent specialist accreditation.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably with in‑house multinational exposure.
• Strong knowledge of South African corporate tax and international tax principles.
• Experience in VAT/indirect tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax and tax governance.
• Excellent commercial, analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Confidence to provide clear recommendations and influence senior stakeholders.
