Group Information & Technology Enablement Lead

About the role

A fast-growing investment holding company, which partners with independent wealth advisory businesses across South Africa, is looking for a Group Information & Technology Enablement Lead in Johannesburg. This is a permanent, full-time, business-facing role reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer, focused on information quality, data governance, business processes, systems, automation, reporting and digital enablement. The salary depends on experience, plus a discretionary annual bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Own the group's information management agenda, including data ownership, quality, governance and accountability, and set data governance standards covering definitions, master records, access, retention, lineage and system integration.
• Lead data quality assessment, remediation and control activities, support POPIA compliance and privacy-by-design, and coordinate with Compliance and Information Officers.
• Identify inefficiencies and duplication in advice, onboarding, servicing, compliance and operational processes, then design workflows, controls and platform requirements that are documented, adopted and measured.
• Guide the use and development of CRM, financial planning, client onboarding, document management, portfolio reporting and workflow platforms, and assess whether they remain fit for purpose.
• Improve the quality, consistency and timeliness of management information, coordinate dashboards, reporting and analytics, and build confidence in information used by executives, the board, compliance and portfolio oversight.
• Develop a roadmap for automation, systems integration, digital client journeys and AI-enabled productivity, moving solutions from concept to implementation.
• Coordinate cybersecurity and technology risk with security and managed-service partners, covering access governance, awareness, incident readiness, third-party reviews and testing, and report risks to Compliance, Risk and Information Officers.
• Manage outsourced and specialist technology, data, cybersecurity and implementation partners, including scope, service levels, performance, escalations, due diligence and licences.
• Contribute to the group's information and technology strategy, prepare reporting for executive, steering and board-level forums, and translate technology matters into clear commercial language.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Information Management, Data, Commerce, Business Analysis, Engineering or a related field.
• Approximately 5-8 years' experience in information management, business process improvement, data operations, digital delivery, business analysis, platform implementation or technology-enabled transformation.
• Proven experience turning business processes and user requirements into practical data, workflow or technology solutions.
• Experience managing outsourced service providers and specialist delivery partners, and working across multiple stakeholders in a complex or decentralised environment.
• Advantageous: financial services, wealth management or investment administration experience; POPIA, information governance or cybersecurity oversight exposure; familiarity with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Power BI, automation and/or AI tools; additional training in data governance, business analysis, process improvement, project delivery, information security, privacy or change management.
