Group Commercial Accountant

About the role

Cobra Industrial Services, a leading renewable‑energy provider in Africa, is looking for a Group Commercial Accountant to support its financial operations across the continent. The role will combine strategic financial planning with hands‑on accounting in a fast‑growing, project‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse and report on group financial statements, budgets and cost‑control metrics.
• Lead project‑finance modelling for renewable‑energy and construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with South African tax deadlines, GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage relationships with banks, investors and external stakeholders.
• Support fundraising activities and maintain investor reporting.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Oracle and Navision accounting systems.
• Travel across Africa and abroad as required to support project sites and stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of finance experience, including at least 2 years in a senior financial‑management role.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with the African regulatory and financial landscape.

Required skills

• Oracle accounting software.
• Navision accounting software.
• Project finance and financial modelling.
• GAAP knowledge.
