Graduate Interns (HR and Supply Chain/Finance) - Beaufort West

About the role

Beaufort West Municipality is advertising two graduate intern positions under Notice No. 161/2026, within Corporate and Financial Services: one in Human Resources and one in Supply Chain Management / Budget Treasury. Each post is 12 months and non-renewable, with a stipend of R6 000 per month. The programme gives graduates practical workplace experience, structured mentorship and skills development.

Key responsibilities

• HR Intern: assist with job analysis data collection, draft standardised competency-based job profiles, support Skills Development Facilitation (SDF) records and general HRD administration.
• SCM/Finance Intern: support requisitions, procurement record-keeping, vendor compliance checks, demand and acquisition administration, and financial reporting tasks such as council reports, cash flow charts and tender documents.

Required profile

• HR Intern: National Certificate, diploma or degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Industrial Psychology or a related qualification.
• SCM/Finance Intern: National Certificate, diploma or degree in Financial Management, Public Management, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Internal Auditing or Logistics.
• Target group: unemployed South African youth living in the Beaufort West municipality area, aged 18-35.
• 0 to 1 year of relevant local government experience.
• Mentally fit and healthy.

Required skills

• Strong computer literacy (MS Office)
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to learn and high ethical standards
