Graduate Engineer – Food & Beverage Projects

About the role

NIRAS is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join its Pretoria office on a contract basis. You will support engineering projects for food and beverage manufacturers, focusing on machine and process safety and on‑site technical tasks while working alongside experienced colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with engineering design and implementation for food & beverage manufacturing facilities.
• Conduct on‑site technical work to ensure machine and process safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and efficient operations.
• Support project documentation and reporting using project management tools.
• Help troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering (Medium to Low Voltage).
• Strong technical understanding and solid engineering fundamentals.
• Good administration and IT proficiency.
• Excellent problem‑solving, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Organisational, planning and analytical abilities.
