Graduate Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy

About the role

WSP Africa is expanding its renewable energy and grid capabilities and seeks a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join the Power & Energy team in Midrand. This role offers hands‑on experience on solar PV, wind, battery storage and grid‑connection projects, supporting technical engineering work from design to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering inputs for renewable‑energy and grid‑related projects.
• Support technical reviews, calculations, drawings, and design documentation.
• Assist with project deliverables for solar PV, wind, battery storage and related clean‑energy technologies.
• Prepare clear technical reports, design notes, review comments and client‑facing documentation under guidance.
• Communicate effectively with senior engineers, project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to health, safety, environment and quality (SHEQ) initiatives.

Required profile

• BSc, BEng or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
• Pure graduate or 1‑2 years of early‑career experience.
• Strong interest in renewable energy, grid integration and electrical engineering project delivery.
• Exposure to solar PV, wind, battery storage or grid‑connection projects is advantageous.
• Intention to register with ECSA (or existing registration) is a plus.
