Graduate Chemical Engineering Internship (24 months)

About the role

Impala Platinum Limited offers a 24‑month Graduate Internship for recent Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy graduates. The programme provides structured exposure to operational, technical, safety and managerial aspects within the Platinum Group Metals (PGM) industry.

Key responsibilities

• Complete a 24‑month training programme covering technical, safety and managerial topics.
• Participate in all mandatory training and development interventions.
• Compile and submit regular training reports as required.
• Provide technical and engineering support to operational areas to help meet production targets.
• Contribute innovative ideas to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Completed NQF Level 7 qualification in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy.
• Sound knowledge of chemical engineering and/or metallurgical principles.
• Currently unemployed and not previously enrolled in any graduate programme.
• Medically fit for operations such as concentrator, smelting, PMR or BMR.
