Shift Supervisor – Plastic Industry Experience Essential

About the role

The Shift Supervisor ensures continuous, safe, and high‑quality production in a plastics manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead the shift team, maintain hygiene standards, and act as the key point of communication between shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate production staff to guarantee production continuity, product quality, and workplace hygiene.
• Enforce HSE rules, maintain order, and promote clean work areas.
• Manage team discipline, prioritize tasks, remove bottlenecks, and train staff on proper procedures.
• Ensure effective hand‑over of information between shifts and collaborate with warehouse, quality, and production managers.
• Monitor quality checks, support root‑cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Decide when to start or stop machines based on staffing, quality, or safety considerations.
• Oversee technical operations such as color changes, mold changes, line cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Complete production documents, quality control sheets, and ensure accurate batch traceability.

Required skills

• Experience with plastic molding technologies (EBM, SBM, IM).
• Applied knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical/electronic systems.
• Ability to operate manual and electric forklifts.
• Proficiency with measuring instruments and techniques.
• Understanding of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards.
• Strong knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) regulations.
