General Manager – Business Leadership Role

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to lead, grow and shape a successful business in Gqeberha. The General Manager will have full responsibility for overall performance, driving sales, managing relationships and steering strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for successful management and performance of the business
• Drive sales, business development, key account management and customer relationships
• Oversee suppliers, product branding and commercial relationships
• Lead and manage mergers, acquisitions and business negotiations
• Negotiate contracts and identify new business opportunities
• Own budgets, gross profit, financial statistics and overall business performance
• Prepare and present financial and operational information at management meetings
• Build and nurture long‑standing relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for growth, improvement and increased profitability
• Think strategically while staying connected to day‑to‑day operations

Required profile

• Degree or diploma qualified
• Experienced General Manager or senior business leader, preferably with a technical/commercial background
• Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset
• Hands‑on leader comfortable making decisions and solving problems
• Proven experience in financial management, budgets and gross profit analysis
• Skilled negotiator of contracts and major business transactions
• Resilient, competitive and able to think quickly under pressure
• Confident decision‑maker and problem‑solver
