General Laboratory Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a diligent General Laboratory Assistant to support daily operations in our laboratory environment. The role involves handling biological samples, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, collect, and pack blood hampers.
• Receive stock, conduct stock counts and manage inventory.
• Dispose of waste according to established protocols.
• Perform routine daily laboratory duties.
• Ensure SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) compliance.
• Support general laboratory functions as required.

• Customer‑service orientation, relationship‑building, effective communication, and teamwork.
• Willingness to work overtime, shift work and weekends when needed.
• Good physical health, reasonable endurance, mobility and proficient eyesight.
• Minimum education: Grade 12 with Mathematics and at least one Science subject.
