General Assistant (Food & Beverage)

About the role

Hollywoodbets is looking for a motivated General Assistant to join its Food & Beverage team in Century City, Western Cape. You will support chefs with food preparation, maintain kitchen hygiene, and manage stock to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare basic food items and assist chefs with plating and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of food‑preparation areas, equipment, and work surfaces in line with health and safety standards.
• Conduct kitchen stock counts, store items correctly, rotate stock, and dispose of expired or waste food.
• Defrost freezers as needed and report any equipment faults.
• Ensure orders are prepared and served promptly, meeting Hollywoodbets presentation standards.
• Report low‑stock items to the chef and document any wastage or breakages.
• Perform regular cleaning of appliances, floors, walls, fat traps, fridges and freezers.
• Complete ad‑hoc duties such as receiving deliveries and assisting with other kitchen tasks.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence.
• Experience in stock management.
• Matric qualification (preferred).
• Previous experience in the F&B industry.
