Full-time Bookkeeper (Camperdown)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Bookkeeper to join our Camperdown office. The role involves managing bookkeeping tasks for a portfolio of clients, preparing management accounts and handling payroll and tax submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Processing accounting records for a portfolio of clients
• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Processing payroll using Sage Payroll and Pastel Payroll
• Preparing and submitting VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL returns
• Preparing and submitting EMP501 reconciliations
• Completing and submitting Compensation Fund Return of Earnings
• Assisting with year‑end financial information and other accounting duties

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience (accounting practice experience preferred)
• Relevant accounting qualification (advantageous)
• Proficient in Xero, Sage Pastel and/or QuickBooks
• Experience with Sage Payroll and Pastel Payroll
• Experience processing VAT, PAYE and income tax
• Proficient in SARS eFiling and SARS e@syFile Employer, including EMP501 reconciliations
• Experience with Compensation Fund (Workmen’s Compensation) Return of Earnings
• Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
