Full-time Baker – Specialty Café

About the role

We are looking for a full-time Baker to join our specialty café in Cape Town. You will be responsible for preparing and baking bagels and a range of other baked goods, ensuring each product meets our high standards of taste and appearance.

Key responsibilities

• Mix and knead doughs according to established recipes.
• Shape bagels and other bakery items, monitor proofing times, and operate ovens.
• Maintain clean and organized food preparation areas, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist with early-morning production runs to support café operations.
• Help manage ingredient inventory and support the development of new menu items.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a commercial or artisan bakery environment.
• Ability to work reliable early-morning shifts in a fast-paced team.
• Attention to detail and strong time-management skills.
• Formal baking or culinary training is an advantage but not mandatory.

• Dough mixing and kneading.
