Full Stack .NET Desktop Developer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack .NET Desktop Developer to join our team in Johannesburg North. You will work on both desktop and web applications, ensuring high‑performance, scalable solutions using Microsoft technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain WinForms desktop applications.
• Design, build and maintain RESTful APIs with ASP.NET Core Web API.
• Implement and manage WCF services for inter‑application communication.
• Integrate APIs with Microsoft SQL Server for data storage and retrieval.
• Use Entity Framework 6 and Entity Framework Core for data access.
• Write clean, scalable code in C# and VB.NET.
• Develop and manage Windows Services for background processing.
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise application performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design and ship new features.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in C#, VB.NET and the .NET Framework 4.8.
• Experience with WinForms, ASP.NET Core (3.1+), and Web API development.
• Solid knowledge of Entity Framework, ADO.NET and SQL Server, including complex queries and database design.
• Experience with WCF, Windows Services and message brokers such as RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with version control (Git, TFS) and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, IdentityServer) and unit testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit).
