Full-Stack Developer (Contractor)

About the role

Fluence International, which focuses on evidence-based education and training for professionals and institutions in the emerging field of psychedelic-assisted therapy, is seeking a pragmatic and security-conscious Full-Stack Developer. The role reports directly to the Senior AI & Design Lead and involves translating complex product requirements into stable, secure and well-documented applications, with a strong focus on auditability, data privacy and clinical regulatory standards. The company works as a globally distributed team, so asynchronous communication and proactive problem solving are important.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain full-stack applications, mainly using React and Next.js
• Architect performant backends and APIs, relying heavily on AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/Fargate, RDS and Cognito
• Implement granular role-based access controls and ensure data models meet strict privacy and audit requirements
• Work with LLM features in production, focusing on guardrails and security protocols
• Monitor system performance, implement logging and use tools such as n8n to automate internal workflows
• Work with senior leadership to iterate on product briefs and maintain technical documentation

Required profile

• At least three years of professional experience
• Ability to take full ownership of projects and deliver clear documentation
• Experience in healthcare, education or other highly regulated industries is a strong advantage

Required skills

• TypeScript and JavaScript, with deep experience in React and Next.js
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing production workloads on AWS
• Solid grasp of web security best practices
• Bonus: familiarity with BaaS platforms such as Convex and internal process automation
