Frontend Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Frontend Software Developer to join Fragomen’s Global Development Lab in Johannesburg. The role focuses on building and enhancing responsive Angular single‑page applications that deliver excellent user experiences for our mobility and compliance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and maintain existing functionality in an Angular SPA.
• Contribute to UI/UX design decisions and implement designs using Tailwind CSS.
• Improve application speed and performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑documented code and create npm packages.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with developers, designers and business owners worldwide.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross‑functional team.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and CI/CD processes.
• Analytical mindset with strong data analysis and troubleshooting abilities.
• Critical thinking to evaluate alternative solutions.

Required skills

• Expertise in a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular or React.
• Proficiency with Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with component‑based development and StoreBook.js.
• Building and maintaining npm packages.
• Git repository branch management.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and SDLC.
• Familiarity with hybrid mobile tools like Cordova, Ionic, or Capacitor (preferred).
