French‑Speaking Senior Compliance Research Specialist – FinTech/Payments

About the role

The Senior Compliance Research Specialist will ensure that cross‑border payment solutions meet global regulatory requirements and industry standards. Based in Cape Town, the role supports a shared‑services team serving multiple fintech and financial services businesses. The position operates in a fast‑paced environment with hybrid work arrangements after a probationary period.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Transaction Vetting and support daily compliance assignments.
• Monitor B2B and B2P payments, invoices, and contract payments for suspicious activity.
• Perform entity and person checks using platforms such as ComplyAdvantage, Orbis, Panjiva, and Capital IQ Pro.
• Review KYC and Enhanced Due Diligence documentation for clients and transactions.
• Conduct compliance testing, risk‑based CDD reviews and maintain daily transaction monitoring records in Excel.
• Report any suspicious findings immediately to the line manager.
• Support documentation management and contribute to compliance reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of compliance experience, preferably in financial services or fintech.
• Fluency in written and spoken French.
• Strong analytical, research and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with compliance platforms: ComplyAdvantage, BankFocus, Orbis, Panjiva, Capital IQ Pro.
• Experience in transaction monitoring and KYC/EDD processes.
• Advanced Excel for daily monitoring and reporting.
