French‑Speaking Customer Service Agent – Cape Town

About the role

HGS is seeking a French‑speaking Customer Service Agent to join its Cape Town contact centre. The role supports a Canadian shipping client by handling inbound inquiries from French‑language customers about parcel delivery, tracking, and service issues. The position is on‑site in Woodstock, Cape Town, and operates on a night shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and messages in French with professionalism and empathy.
• Investigate delivery‑related queries, provide tracking updates, and resolve service concerns.
• Maintain accurate case notes and ensure first‑contact resolution whenever possible.
• Escalate complaints according to quality and service standards.
• Meet individual and team performance targets and adapt to evolving processes.

Required profile

• Matric qualification or equivalent contact‑centre experience.
• Fluent verbal and written French, with strong English communication skills.
• Ability to work night shifts (3 pm – 6 am, Monday to Sunday).
• Detail‑oriented, with a focus on delivering a positive customer experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using contact‑centre software and tracking systems (explicit tools not listed).
