French Speaking Senior Compliance Research Specialist (Fintech/Payments)

About the role
The Senior Compliance Research Specialist will ensure that our cross‑border payment solutions meet global regulatory requirements and industry standards. Based in Cape Town, the role works closely with the Head of Risk and Compliance and operates in a fast‑paced fintech environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Transaction Vetting and support daily compliance assignments.
- Monitor B2B payments, invoices and contract payments for suspicious activity.
- Conduct entity and person checks using platforms such as ComplyAdvantage, Orbis, Panjiva and Capital IQ Pro.
- Review KYC and EDD documentation for B2B and B2P transactions.
- Perform compliance testing, risk‑based file reviews and CDD/EDD assessments.
- Maintain the Daily Transaction Monitoring Excel sheet and report any suspicions immediately.
- Support documentation management and contribute to compliance reporting.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business administration or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of compliance experience, preferably in financial services or fintech.
- Proven experience in transaction monitoring and KYC/EDD processes.
- Fluency in French (written and spoken).
- Strong analytical, research and organisational skills.
- Professional compliance certification is a plus.
