Freight Forwarder – Air Import (Automotive Logistics)

About the role

The Controller will manage import operations for the automotive logistics sector, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation, customs clearance and financial precision. You will support end‑to‑end processes and provide reliable client service in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Capture charges and register shipments in CargoWise (CW1).
• Track shipments, retrieve shipping documents and engage origin offices and carriers.
• Follow up carrier and vendor invoices, raise queries and ensure accurate billing.
• Maintain lane‑specific rates, update shipment milestones and produce status reports.
• Assist the client lead with ad‑hoc projects, reporting and air‑freight quotations.
• Identify and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce risk.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years experience in freight forwarding and controlling.
• Matriculation (essential); industry or tertiary qualification advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of automotive logistics and international shipping processes.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing abilities.

Required skills

• Office 365 suite (Teams, OneNote, Forms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• CargoWise (CW1) for shipment registration and charge capture.
• Knowledge of Incoterms 2010.
