Freelance Video Editor & Motion Designer – Project-Based

About the role

Sourcefin is a leading South African alternative funding provider for SMMEs. They are hiring freelance video editors and motion designers to power their content engine on a project‑by‑project basis.

Key responsibilities

• Edit footage captured during monthly filming days, transforming it into a weekly rhythm of long‑form interview videos, concise social‑media cuts, and fully packaged YouTube episodes that align with brand guidelines.
• Produce animated explainers and motion‑graphics sequences for “The Great Enabler” series as well as for various marketing campaigns and activation projects, ensuring visual consistency and engaging storytelling.
• Manage each project's lifecycle by interpreting briefs, quoting rates, coordinating any required travel to shoots or events, and delivering final edited assets on schedule.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in video editing across formats such as long‑form storytelling, short‑form social clips, or YouTube packaging, with a portfolio that showcases relevant work.
• Strong motion‑design and animation capabilities, highlighted through animated pieces or motion‑graphics that illustrate your creative style and technical proficiency.
• Clear communication of your specialties, preferred rates (day, half‑day, per‑project, hourly), available tools or gear, and willingness to travel to shoots or office locations when required.
